David Dobrik, one of YouTube’s number one stars, finally posts an apology video after many sexual misconduct allegations were made against him and his colleagues in The Vlog Squad.

The Vlog Squad is a ground of YouTubers that got their start from Dobrik himself. While they are not employees of Dobrik, they did all gain large amounts of followers from starring in his famous YouTube vlogs.

The first allegation that came out was from former Vlog Squad member, Seth Francois. In a video that has since been deleted from Dobrik’s channel titled “HE THOUGHT HE WAS KISSING HER!! (SUPER CRINGEY)” Dobrik blindfloded Seth, and told him that he would be kissing Vlog Squad member Corinna Kopf.

In reality, Francois was actually unknowingly forced into kissing Vlog Squad member Jason Nash, who was much older than the rest of the group. In the statement put out by Francois, he said “After Jason pulled off his mask, I realized that I was just touched by someone I did not consent to.” Nash has yet to respond to the allegations against him.

The second allegation came from a young girl, “Hannah”, which is not her real name but a pseudonym that has been commonly used. “Hannah” stated that she was featured in a since deleted vlog in 2018 titled “SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE PLAYED WITH FIRE!” In which Dobrik and his friends had invited Hannah and a few of her friends over for a party.

It was then stated by YouTube star and Nash’s former girlfriend, Trisha Paytas, that Dobrik had Nash and former Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek buy alcohol for Hannah and her friends as they were notold enough to purchase it themselves.

“Hannah” then claims that former Vlog Squad star and Dobrik’s former roommate, Dom Zeglaitis aka “Durte Dom”, who had originally invited the girls over, took her into his bedroom and raped her, whereas in Dobrik’s video he portrayed the act as consensual.

“Hannah” is not the first to come out agains Zeglaitis for sexual misconduct. Many girls have said that when they were with him for various events, such as photo shoots or videos, he would make then sign “sexual consent” forms. He made them fill out these forms with questions based around how oldthey were, if they were drunk, and if they would consent to have sex with him.

Since “Hannah” has come out, other girls have said that they experienced the same type of manipulation from both Dobrik and Zeglaitis. Some of these girls even claiming that they were ungerage at the time of the incident.

Since these allegations have came out, Dobrik has lost almost all of his sponsors, including HelloFresh, General Mills, DoorDash, SeatGeek, and EA Sports.

Dobrik finally posted a seven-minute apology video on his YouTube account titled “03/22/21” apologizing for his behavior. This did not go over well for fans, though, as most thought it was not sincere and that it should have been said before.

The Vlog Squad members that have since spoken out against Dobrik are Natalie Mariduena, Carly Incontro, Erin Gilfoy, Trisha Paytas, and Todd Smith. Others have yet to speak out.
